Welcome to a totally new experience in learning British Sign Language (BSL)

This on-line course is an affordable and effective way for anyone wanting to learn BSL from the comfort of their own home. This course can also be a perfect complement to any foundation or intermediate BSL course that you have attended at college or approved centres.

Normally, foundation BSL courses consist of 30 weeks tuition for 2 hours each week. Between classes there is little in place to assist you. For example, if you have forgotten a sign you will have to wait a week before you can see that sign again. With our ever busy lifestyles it is not always convenient to leave your home to attend a class.

This course offers a fresh approach to learning the language and developing your skills. The aims and objectives of this course are to enable you to acquire a basic ability to communicate with deaf people using BSL. Also to provide students with information about deaf people, their community and culture.

Being a web-based course, it is designed to help you learn at your own pace: anytime, anywhere convenient to yourself. You have total control over your learning. With the use of digital video, all the words and phrases are demonstrated so that you can see the signs and copy them. You can repeat the exercise again and again, which is exactly what we encourage you to do.

This course teaches you using a conversational format. Each lesson consists of one or two brief conversations. The different BSL features are then discussed and built upon each session.
